Advisory Board

Tasks

The Advisory Board is a legally established body that strengthens internal collaboration within the Austrian Library Network. It consists of five to seven representatives from participating institutions and is appointed for three years by the OBVSG General Meeting (Generalversammlung).

The Advisory Board provides professional consultation to support OBVSG in fulfilling its tasks, which are funded by federal subsidies. Its rights and responsibilities include:

  • Consultation rights: Defining OBVSG's tasks under §3 (2) lit a & b of the OBVSG Act.
  • Proposal development: Suggesting refinements to tasks under §3 (2) lit j-l, ensuring financial feasibility. These proposals are reviewed and renewed every three years.
